William Henry Singleton

William Henry Singleton was born a slave in New Bern, North Carolina.  By the time he was ten years old he ran away from his masters three times.  During the Civil War he organized and drilled men for service, who became the 35th Regiment, United States Colored Troops.  Listen to his amazing story of determination.
